These two works for orchestra are early incidental works of the composer Roger Julià. Tell me straight, for symphony orchestra, has a rhapsodic nature and the different instruments in it are pursued in agility passages contrasted with others of a more peaceful and friendly nature. Dynamic and timbric changes are present throughout the score. The work takes about five minutes.

In Fanfare, percussion instruments play an ostinato that remind the traditional fanfaras with a bright disposition, where the trumpets and other brass instruments play a dominant role. The repetition of the initial motive gives coherence to the whole. Its duration is very short, giving almost the character of a music slot.
