Enrique Granados is one of the most irresistible figures of late musical Romanticism.

After releasing his Goyescas opera in New York, during his trip back to Spain, a German submarine torpedoed the boat in which he and his wife were traveling, and the two perished in the waters of the English Channel. His death was mourned on both sides of the Atlantic, as the composer died at the peak of his career, at a time of great creativity.

While the tragic disappearance of Granados cast a shadow on the story of his life, this biography of Walter Clark reveals as never before a genius of remarkable versatility and personality has been made, an author who without a doubt will occupy an eminent place among the great artists of our history.
