I wrote this piece for trumpet and piano in 2008, as a result of my collaboration as a repertoire pianist with the trumpeter Toni Gallart and the rehearsals I still do with his students. It is dedicated to all of them. It is at a level that I wanted it to be suitable for the professional level of trumpet, as it is very much based on the instrument. I was able to consult doubts about the resolution of some of the technical difficulties presented by the work (as is the case of some chromatic passages). The piano plays a brilliant and very energetic role and interacts with the trumpet, which in some moments takes the leading role. Despite the presence of a dodecaphonic series, the work is in D minor and its treatment is tonal. It was premiered on Thursday 12 February 2009 at the Auditorium of the Sant Andreu Municipal School of Music, with Pablo Fernández on trumpet and the composer herself on piano.
